Richard St. John defines success as a continuous journey. It means that there is no arrival mentality for the one who is truly successful. While he interviewed more than 500 successful professionals to identify what he called “success factors”, the top three traits that emerged from his research were Passion, Hard Work, and Laser-Sharp Focus.
But what are the vital ingredients responsible for producing such traits in one who wants to achieve success – especially the type that’s not a final destination? I share with you five of the very important ones:

1. Enthusiasm
Enthusiasm births dedication and dedication is needed for success to be achieved. It is also contagious, fueling others to persist through difficulties and stay focused on their mission.

2. Goal-Setting
Successful leaders monitor their progress regularly by setting short, mid, and long-term goals. This keeps them focused at all times.

3. Adaptable
The world is constantly changing and smart leaders know that adapting is the way to survive. They avoid getting stuck in the rut of doing things a certain way because “they have always been done that way”.

4. Clear Communication
Great leaders value transparency and openness. Others know where they stand and what they can do to grow, which inspires action.

5.Work with the Best
Successful leaders work with the most talented team they can find. They inspire loyalty among employees by recognizing each person’s contributions and the value they add to the organization. They make an impact by making others feel as though their work makes a difference, because it does. Success is seldom achieved without a strong band of allies.
